Four Days In Vancouver: Hye Jung Gets A Canadian Cultural Experience

We hooked up with our friend Hye Jung. She joined in on the festivities Saturday night. Later we crashed a pub off Commercial Drive.

Sunday night we headed back on the ferry. We agreed- it was a great trip filled with family (and a dash of friend) fun!

Four Days In Vancouver: The Survivors

We had quite a laugh when someone shouted "Hey, lets get a picture of the survivors!"...

Here they are: Hank, Isla, Laura, and Ed

Four Days In Vancouver: Ed & Isla May's 50th Wedding Anniversary

The true reason why we came down.

We celebrated on Saturday night with gluttonous amounts of freshly prepared sushi platters followed by a table spread by Memphis Blues Barbeque House link with much more meat than manageable.

There was the dessert table, and, just when we thought we couldn't stuff ourselves anymore, came two cakes!

In a conversation with Great Uncle Ed he recounted his first encounter with Isla May...

I went to a party in my sharp car and navy hair cut. When I got there I saw this beautiful blond on the other side of the room. I asked my friend if she came with anybody and he said she was single.

So I started a conversation and realized that she was interested in all the same things I was. She even loved the B.C. Lions! Before I met her I didn't think girls were into sports. It was love at first sight!

Four Days In Vancouver: Dad Golfs Great and Eats Lots of Cake

Yes, these shots were taken within minutes of each other...

In fairness to Dad, Matthew took even more trips to the dessert table. Dawne's cheesecake was irresistible!

Four Days In Vancouver: Family, Food, Fun

It was nice to catch up with family...
and eat all that food.

Four Days In Vancouver: Golfing With Family

The family reunions on my Father's side always come in the form of a two day golf tourney. This year is no exception.

Four Days In Vancouver: Catching Up With Amanda Messer

We had a great time in Amanda's 'gaybourhood'. After checking out the digs, we decided to go for some sushi during that mid-afternoon gap when no sushi restaurants are open. So after trying unsuccessfully to get in to a sushi place, we decided to kick it ol'scwol and go to Earls and order some of our favorites.

It was too awesome to shoot the sheet with Amanda again!

After that we hauled to my second cousin's for a BBQ finishing off a great day two in Vancouver.
