After a walking out of the weekend long 2010 Victoria Tea Festival a bit jittery off caffeine, we headed to Pescatores, an oyster bar across from the Empress. We got a spot right in front of the cook and ordered a local bottle of Pinot Noir. The cook effortlessly shucked the oysters. He educated us prairie folk on the types of oysters we were eating and where they came from. We had Fanny Bay, Whale, Kumamoto, Effingham, and Kusshi oysters all are harvested on different areas on the island. Alissa's favorite was the juicy Whale oysters, Matt's was the creamy Kusshies.
After a bellyfull of oysters we headed to the waterfront sea plane bar, the Flying Otter Grill. Our mission was to give the manager at the Otter $20.00 from our server at Pescatoes... our crazy life. The manager wasn't there so we forwarded the money on to our server at the Otter. We got a table right on the water. The view was sick!
After an appy and a few more drinks we stopped of at our favourite local spot, Cafe Brio.
What a great V-Day In Vic!
